About Betsy, Founder of District Elevate
Betsy Barrows is a seasoned facilitator who has lived and worked in the D.C. area for the past 16 years. Most recently, she is a proud 2025 graduate of Georgetown University's Institute for Transformational Leadership.
Her journey—from leading POLITICO’s sales training function for a decade, to walking the National Mall on weekends in search of inspiration—has shaped her belief, in the words of the poet David Whyte, that "work is where we meet the world."
Influenced by The Arbinger Institute and Priya Parker who wrote "The Art of Gathering", she designs memorable coaching and team experiences that elevate her clients' mindset and sense of accountability to the way they lead and work.
District Elevate is named after Washington, D.C. -- a place that, at it's best, inspires thinking beyond one's own ambitions to serve a greater good. Though she is based in the D.C. area, she is committed to elevating leaders and teams inside and outside of our nation's capital.
